In recent years traditional low quality CCTV systems have been replaced by the new generation of IP based Megapixel camera’s. These intelligent systems have offered many advanced features as standard, like the ability to sense movement and start recording automatically, or to send you a text or e-mail warning. However, the key functionality that has led to the growth in this area has only been possible with this new generation of equipment.
After a detailed review of the video surveillance industry AMASIt selected two prominent manufacturers of the new video technology – ACTi (the leading Taiwanese manufacturer) and Mobotix (the specialist German manufacturer). These two ranges offer reliable choices from budget to 180/360 degree panoramic all supplied through the authorised UK distribution channel with warranted UK product.
Megapixel Clarity with Digital Zoom
A traditional CCTV camera would offer live images of up to 0.4 magapixels with recording at typically 0.1 megapixels with perhaps 3 frames per second. The new megapixel cameras are typically set to record at between 1.3 and 3.1 megapixels and at 30FPS.
The clarity of the picture on a megapixel camera compared to a traditional CCTV camera is simply startling and with the ability to zoom into a picture using software (digital zoom) you can identify even the smallest detail. For instance, you can zoom in to identify a number plate on a distant car or the denomination of a bank note going into a till.
The camera range includes indoor and outdoor cameras including vandal proof housings. They can be fixed position or motorised dome.
Storage with no Limits – H.264
In the bad old days of CCTV you would typically have a tape for each day of recording. Later, you could have a day per DVR or perhaps a week. A typical megapixel system running 3 cameras on a site could store real time footage for one year on a single USB External Hard Drive.
The highly compressed H.264 video streaming standard combined with the ability to stream the cameras to external USB hard drives means your storage capacity for video is now virtually unlimited – just swap the disk when required and carry on recording.
Web Browser View – On-Line from Anywhere
One of the biggest advantages of the new IP cameras is the ability to view the camera locally or remotely over the internet. A simple web browser, for an authorised user, can be used to view a camera in real time from anywhere in the world. AMASIt offer the ability to view cameras in this way or by logging into the video server and viewing multiple cameras from there (up to 32 cameras per server) or searching and replaying any camera’s archive footage.
Rapid Archive Search
Our standard video archive control centre software allows footage of up to 32 cameras to be searched and reviewed with the ability to replay multiple cameras simultaneously and record to DVD or USB memory stick at the click of a button.
Easy Installation – Single Cable
Our cameras will typically use Power Over Ethernet (PoE) so that only a single cable has to be turn to each camera (shielded CAT 5). This single cable provides power to the camera and a data link to the video server. We can isolate the video network or combine it on your data LAN using intelligent IP subnets and VLAN’s.
